Performance Measurement of Vietnamese Publishing Firms by the Integration of the GM (1,1) Model and the Malmquist Model

Abstract Background: In the new technology context, publishing industry cannot continue to maintain its business operations and develop relying solely on traditional product offerings, such as books, magazines, newspapers. There needs be an expansion into innovative products, e-books, micro-publishing, websites. Objectives: The paper addresses factors influencing financial reports of Vietnamese firms using two methodological approaches, namely Grey first-order one variables (GM,1,1) model in theory Malmquist data envelopment analysis (DEA). Methods/Approach: GM(1,1) predicts future period 2020–2023 based historical time series analysis. presents catch-up, frontier-shift, Productivity Index (MPI) whole terms. Results: provides overview Vietnam. final empirical results show that twelve companies reached a production efficiency higher than 1 fourteen are expected attain productivity score 1. Conclusions: Only few do not need change significantly; however, remaining must re-evaluate their current operations.
